i am using the Hostgator hosting from last 1 year and in this one year one thing is completely clear that they are best in market as for as the up-time service and tech-support concern, but their online chat agents are too slow, they are good in solving your issues but sometime they takes a lot of time to understand your small problem. When the point comes to the uptime and software I think they are really superb in market. I am now using shared hosting baby plan and they are really providing superb services :)
I have been using iPage hosting since 3 years. Frankly speaking, I may not have used it, but everytime my account comes close to expiry, they send me that $1/year deal. So I continue once again :)
Things for I like about iPage are:
Lots of free coupons and goodies
So, as long as I am getting these deals, I will go on.I am hosting a few websites there, and they are running good. Never made a contact to their support, so I can't say anything about that. Though I hope its good.
FatCow Review by Prashant
I have been with them for quite long and still do not have any bad experience. There were a few downtimes, but nothing considerable. Their customer support is excellent and helped with good commitment. They even solved the errors which were generated by my own mistakes. One thing they seriously lack is a good Control Panel. They provide vDeck and cPanel is missing. vDeck is good for beginners but lacks many features. Overall, a good host.
Although 000WebHost is one of the most commonly used free web hosts, it is probably not the best. Most web hosting services, including free ones, include script installer, access to webmail, and website builder. Sadly these always seem to be "broken" on 000webhost, at least for free users. Aside from that the site has fairly good free web hosting as it offers a good amount of space.
MediaTemple by far is the best web host I have used yet. Their services are extremely fast, customer service is excellent, and their custom control panel is easy to use. Note that it doesn't include a lot of the same functionalities that cPanel or DirectAdmin offers. However, if you are either good at building your own scripts or just need a simple control panel solution, MediaTemple's CP software will do the job.
A web design customer of mine already had a website hosted with GoDaddy which they wished to have updated and redesigned. The GoDaddy website is very sales orientated and quite clustered which made it tricky to navigate. Once I logged in to their account, I found that their hosting package didn't include many of the features that the client requested of their new website and GoDaddy were kean to offer upgrades if you paid $$ per month extra for each feature.
After a brief calculation I worked out that this would cost my customer a far deal more than it should and after explaining this to them, I helped them transfer their domain across to my Lunarpages reseller account which saved them a lot of money per month as all the features they needed are included.
fast speed... never downtime... overall 4 stars for fatcow... I have been a Fatcow client since jan 2011, I would recommend this service to others.
HostGator Review by w3bmaster
I am with HostGator from 2 years now and I must say HostGator is best hosting sevice ever I used as it have great features, highly effective customer service and no downtime so far for me which is most important for any website owners.
Also whenever you found any problems you will reach their online support instant and they are extremely good to solve the issue!
If you want high quality Hosting then go for HostGator.
I must say GoDaddy is not up to mark hosting service provider for me, I face many problems with them and also hard do transition with them. I would say slow speed is really big issue for me. I always had complains from my readers so I have to drop them even paying 6 month payments!
HostGator is really simple to use. I like it better than godaddy althougth I think their domain registartion is a bit confusing and too much. So i think i will continue to use hostgator but register domains with godaddy.com
